How To Get Started With Our Dental Assistant Course

Here are the documents that you will need in order to enroll at Tenessee Dental Assistant School:

  1. U.S. High School Diploma or GED
  2. U.S. Government-issued photo ID
  3. Copy of your up to date immunization records

Our hands-on classes take place in a real dental office rather than a classroom. Students spend the majority of the class time learning the essential techniques of Dental Assisting first-hand from our experienced instructors. Each class begins with an instructional lecture, however our program emphasizes hands-on learning. When our students graduate, they feel at home in a dental office and possess all the skills need to succeed in their new career.

As a newly hired Dental Assistant, your employer will expect you to know the basics of dental assisting. Dental Assistants perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to assisting the dentist, carrying out clinical tasks, and completing administrative work.

Dental Assistants are responsible for preparing patients for cleanings, treatments, and procedures, while also making them feel at ease during their visit. During dental visits, assistants often work alongside the dentist and can be expected to support the dentist during procedures.

Examples of clinical duties include preparing patients and the work area for treatments and procedures, sterilizing dental instruments, taking molds and impressions, and performing x-rays.

Administrative front office tasks include assisting patients with scheduling, billing and payments, patient documentation, and more.

Nope. When you graduate from any dental assisting school you receive a certificate of completion. Many students ask if they can expect to make a higher starting salary if they attend a longer program. The starting salary for a Dental Assistant does not have anything to do with how long you spent in school or how much you paid for your schooling.
